Sothebys referenced my book for this Banksy /Damien Hirst collaboration. Actually you got it wrong, Sothebys.
You misquoted me. I did not refer to this painting in my Banksy book
(Ulrich Blanché, Banksy: Urban Art in a Material World, Marburg 2016, p.
167) but to an earlier collaboration with the same title from 2011.
There Banksy painted the same slogan but a different background on a
Hirst Spot Painting. If Sotheby's had looked at my book about Damien Hirst they would even got a reference to an illustration of the work I refered to. The one Sothebys auctioned was made later (2013/14), it got the same Banksy Slogan, "Sorry your lifestyle is currently out of stock" but different background defacements.
